On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Sept 2, 1945- Sept 2, 2017), San Francisco Mayor’s Office hosted the flag raising ceremony at the City Hall on Aug 31, 2017.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Deputy Consul General Ngo Quang Anh, consuls and staffs of Vietnam Consulate General, Vietnamese-American people from the Bay Area, leaders of San Francisco’s departments, representatives of Sister City Committee of San Francisco-Ho Chi Minh City and American friends. The leaders of San Francisco extended congratulations to the National Day of Vietnam and deeply valued the growing friendship and relationship between Vietnam and the United States of America, San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City. On behalf of Consul General Ho Xuan Son, Deputy Consul General Anh expressed his appreciation to San Francisco’s valuable support and friendship rendered to Vietnam Consulate General and the Vietnamese community. Deputy Consul General Anh also reaffirmed commitments to enhancing cooperation at local level, strengthening the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries, fostering people-to-people ties, caring for Vietnamese expats and connecting business communities.
The ceremony was conducted in the ambience of warm friendship, indicating the flourishing partnership between Vietnam and the United States of America.
